Schedule Finalized for CoinPoker GOPC Series, Including $3M Main Event
CoinPoker has released the schedule for the $50 million Global Online Poker Championship, its biggest tournament series to date. The GOPC will run from Aug. 23-Sept. 28.
The tournament schedule includes events at three tiers of buy-ins and catering to players in three different time zones: Europe, Latin America, and Asia. It will be led by the flagship main event, which carries a $3 million guarantee for just $530. That’s the biggest poker tournament guarantee in the history of CoinPoker.
Tournament winners will receive actual gold medals as part of CoinPoker’s Olympics-themed festival. Silver and bronze winners get in-client graphical “trophies” signifying their top finishes.
Additionally, GOPC players will have access to hundreds of thousands of dollars in promotional opportunities. These are headlined by $200,000 in regional leaderboards, where players will compete to pile up points and claim big prizes.
CoinPoker’s Record-Setting GOPC Main Event
The GOPC main event has 17 starting flights sprinkled throughout the festival, with the first one scheduled for Sept. 6. Players who qualify for Day 2 will combine on Sept. 28, capping off the series.
The record-setting $3 million guarantee will see the winning player scoop a six-figure prize.
Since each tournament has multiple buy-in tiers, that means lower-stakes players will have a chance at some pretty huge prize pools in the main event as well.
The $55 Global Main Event has a $1 million guarantee, with three Day 1 starting flights each day from Aug. 23 through Sept. 20, and then a final starting flight on Sept. 21. Day 2 plays out that same day.
Meanwhile, the $11 Global Mini Main guarantees $250,000 and mirrors the $55 tournament’s schedule.
Other GOPC Highlights Include $25K High Roller, Regional Leaderboards
High rollers will find quite an accommodating schedule in the GOPC. Buy-ins at four figures or more start with the $1,050 and $5,200 events on opening day, Aug. 23. Those have a combined $800,000 in guarantees.
The High Roller Championship on Sept. 27 has a $500,000 guarantee as well for a $10,300 price point. The biggest buy-in will be a $25,500 tournament on Sept. 22 with a $1 million guarantee.
CoinPoker is also expanding the schedule for its CoinMillion. The flagship monthly tournament will run each Sunday from Sept. 6 through Sept. 27, with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool at just $215.
Perhaps best of all, CoinPoker will give $350,000 away in added prizes to the players. The best-performing players in each region earn shares of the $200,000 regional leaderboards — $105,000 to Europe, $55,000 to LATAM, and $40,000 to Asia. There’s also an overall podium leaderboard with $20,000 for those piling up the most medals.
CoinPoker will also throw the less fortunate players a bone in the form of $130,000 in Bankroll Boosts. These personalized promotions serve to keep the players who aren’t experiencing success in action via tournament tickets and other rewards.
